Stabilize at Home VS Call EMS

Stabilize at Home (with physician guidance):
– Mild, known angina relieved by nitroglycerin
– Slight increase in BP without severe symptoms
– Mild, stable heart failure symptoms (e.g., mild ankle swelling)
– Palpitations without chest pain, fainting, or dizziness

Call EMS Immediately:
– Chest pain not relieved after 2–3 nitroglycerin doses
– Signs of myocardial infarction (crushing chest pain, sweating, nausea)
– Sudden collapse or cardiac arrest
– Severe shortness of breath or pink frothy sputum (pulmonary edema)
– Hypertensive crisis with confusion, chest pain, or neurological symptoms
