Immediate Action In Cardiac Arrest

Call for help immediately – activate EMS
Begin CPR without delay:
– Check responsiveness, breathing, and pulse
– Start chest compressions if no pulse
– Compression rate: 100–120/min
– Depth: 5–6 cm (2 inches) in adults
– Ratio: 30 compressions: 2 breaths (if trained)

Use AED if available:
– Turn on device, follow prompts
– Attach pads to bare chest
– Deliver shock if advised, then resume CPR
Do not stop CPR until:
– EMS arrives
– Patient shows signs of life
– You are physically unable to continue
