Intervention in Homecare

Initial actions:
– Stop all activity, keep the patient at rest
– Position comfortably (usually semi-Fowler’s)
– Stay with the patient, provide reassurance
Medications (as per standing orders/prescription):
– Administer Aspirin (chewed) if not contraindicated
– Give Nitroglycerin for chest pain, if ordered
– Provide Oxygen if SpO₂ < 94%

Monitoring:
– Record vital signs every 5–10 minutes
– Observe for arrhythmias, worsening pain, or shock
Communication:
– Call EMS immediately
– Report time of onset, symptoms, and interventions given
