Prepare
– Wash your hands.
– Get a 60 mL catheter-tip syringe (without the plunger).
Attach Syringe
– Open the feeding/medication port of the G-tube.
– Attach the syringe (without plunger) to the port.
– Unclamp the G-tube.
If No Air Comes Out
– Clamp the G-tube and remove the syringe.
– Put the plunger back into the syringe.
– Reattach the syringe (with plunger) to the G-tube port.
– Unclamp the tube and gently pull back on the plunger to remove air.
