Dementia is not a specific disease, it is a term for the impaired ability to remember, think, or make decisions that may affect various aspects of daily activities. Dementia is the most common condition in older adults. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia.   

According to research, almost 5.0 million older adults (65 years old) had dementia in 2014. With the age the body’s muscles and bones become weak, arteries and vessels become stiff, and some older memory changes take place. These all changes within the body causes dementia. Some people with dementia cannot control their emotions, and their personalities may change.
