CNA/PCA – Managing Breathing Difficulties

Breathing problem is most common in older adults. As a caregiver, it is very difficult and needs some specific strategies and training to manage this condition, especially in older adults as the lung becomes weaker with age. Older people when performing some specific activities like a little walk can cause difficulty breathing. Difficulty in breathing is a technical term is known as “Dyspnea.” 

Chest discomfort, wheezing, coughing, and/or shortness of breath make it difficult to perform normal activities. Thus, these conditions should be handled carefully. As a caregiver, you have seen many patients with COVID. In a case like COVID, you also have to take some precautionary measures to protect yourself as well patient suffering.
