Cancer is a disease that causes uncontrollable division of the body cell and the spreading of these cells to other body parts. Cancer is a very painful condition and immediate diagnosis is very essential for proper and on-time treatment Cancer can start almost anywhere in the human body, which is made up of trillions of cells. Normally, human cells grow and multiply (through a process called cell division) to form new cells as the body needs them. When cells grow old or become damaged, they die, and new cells take their place.

Treatment of cancer in older adults is more complex as compared to young adults. Age is one of the many factors that your cancer care team considers when planning your treatment. Chronic diseases like diabetes or heart diseases in older adults can make the treatment of cancer more complex. The body of older adults will most likely respond differently to treatment than a younger person’s body. In simple words, the sign and symptoms of cancer in older adults may remain the same, but the treatment approaches can vary, depending upon the health condition of the patient.

The most common type of cancer in older adults include:

  • Breast cancer.
  • Bowel Cancer.
  • Lung cancer.
  • Prostate Cancer.
  • Colon cancer.
